Greetings and Welcome!
This is the home site of an avocational naturalist & nature walker living in Montana.
Being in nature supports our health and well being. Slowing down a touch and being really present in nature is very good for us.
I’m out in nature in some manner every day. This site is a repository of stories, images, and statistics related to my ‘green-time’ efforts at friluftsliv- open-air living in Montana.
Annual Counts | What is a Naturalist?
This is one of several sites that I publish, each of which is dedicated to getting out and being in nature. The others are:
NatureMT.com
Showcases the biodiversity that you might find if you spend any time in the outdoors. The site has nearly 500 images of plants an animals found in Montana and includes links to the Montana Field Guide.
HelenaOutdoors.com
Showcases the more than 100 miles of trails that surround the Helena Valley. HelenaOutdoors focuses on two main systems; Helena’s south hills trail system and the accessible trails and walkways that make up parts of the Helena park system. With trails covering Mount Helena, Mount Ascension, Rodney Ridge, and Wakina Sky, the south hills trail system is an amazing outdoor recreational resource.
MontanaNatureNetwork.com
Learn about Montana’s natural history with maps, photos, trail descriptions, seasonal field reports, and tools to identify what’s blooming or flying through the hills grasslands around us.
I hope my sites help you find yourself in Montana’s great outdoors.
